Semi-Permanent Tumblr Hiatus?

When I originally signed up for Tumblr, I did so mostly to have a centralized location that would enable me to

  1. Easily push out posts to other social networks (particularly Twitter and Facebook), and
  2. Create a record of those posts.

Unfortunately, Tumblr kind of sucks when it comes to (1), and being a proprietary service I remain extremely skeptical of its ability to fulfill (2). Moreover, I’ve begun to use HootSuite more regularly on my phone, which actually does allow me to cross-post to Twitter and Facebook without, well, doing a piss-poor job of it.

So I’m putting Tumblr on semi-permanent hiatus. I may come back to it, particularly if HootSuite’s Android app ever adds support or if the service gets some kind of major upgrade that actually makes cross-posting look decent. I’ll probably pop in ever now and then just to test the latter.

In the mean time, you should either follow me on Twitter at @Necopinus, or friend me on Facebook. You won’t be missing anything if you do.

Assange to UK cops: No, I will not come out of my Ecuadorean embassy -

We’re definitely in the end-game here.

I can’t imagine this is going to end well. If Ecuador was going to grant Assange asylum, I’m sure they would have done it by now.
